Dodging 🐂+💩

By Jo

Speaking about dodging bullshit may not be the most glamorous topic, but it’s undeniably necessary when it comes to personal growth and success. Let’s study on why this concept is crucial and how we can navigate through it effectively.

Blinded by our wants and desires, we often find ourselves walking straight into situations filled with unnecessary complications and obstacles — STRAIGHT BULLSHIT. Whether it’s chasing after a dream job solely for the MONEY or entering into relationships without considering the red flags, ignoring the warning signs can lead us down a path of frustration and disappointment.

Once we’re in the midst of the bullshit, making certain commitments or decisions, it can feel overwhelming. Take, for example, signing up for a job solely because of the financial reward, only to realize later the toxic work environment or unrealistic expectations that come with it. In such situations, it’s important to work ourselves through it, to honor the commitments we’ve made while also learning valuable lessons along the way.

However, the best approach to dealing with bullshit is to avoid it altogether. While it may seem easier said than done, discerning between genuine opportunities and “dummy missions” is key. Trusting our instincts and being mindful of warning signs can save us from unnecessary turmoil and wasted time.

Contrary to popular belief, encountering bullshit isn’t entirely negative. In fact, we need it in order to develop and grow into something greater than our current status. The challenges we face teach us resilience, resourcefulness, and the importance of discernment. They shape us into stronger, more adaptable individuals.

The real problem isn’t dealing with bullshit; it’s taking on too much of it. When we allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by unnecessary complications, it can bleed into other areas of our lives, hindering our progress and clouding our judgment. Learning to prioritize and set boundaries is essential in maintaining clarity and focus amidst life’s inevitable challenges.

You Don’t Need Permission To Change Your Life 🫡

By Marcus

Have you ever wanted to make a change, but felt you had to wait on someone or something to move forward?

There are a million reasons to wait, but it only takes one decision to take that first step toward the new you.

Permissionless Growth

About 8 years ago, I decided I wanted to be an investor. I didn’t have much prior knowledge (or money) and started my investment journey using Investopedia which was recommended by a co-worker. Over time, I started to read more investment books, utilize investment research tools, and I was excited at the idea to bring people along for the journey.

A few years ago, I sent an email to some close friends about starting an investment group. Simply a group to share ideas and learn. Guess how many wanted to join…

ZERO

A couple of my initial thoughts were "maybe I didn’t sell it well enough", or "maybe I’m crazy for taking this investing thing seriously". Either way, I was disappointed. However, I decided that I’ll move forward.

Fast forward to today, I learned invaluable lessons, lost money, made money, made mistakes, and took the leap to pursue an interest of mine. Investing is now my second career! If I waited for others, I wouldn’t be where I am today!

Risk/Reward of Waiting

Yes, going at it alone can be intimidating. Create a system of evaluating the risk and reward of inaction vs. taking action. You can choose to wait until it’s comfortable and safe, but will it be too late by then?

You can also take the risk, be the first (or early), and experience the ups and downs that come with this path.

The choice is ultimately yours to make. If you’re allowing someone or something else to stop you from taking that next leap in your life, ask yourself is it you or them that’s getting in the way.

The future you is waiting. No one can stop you!
