The Healing Power of Joy ❤️🩹

Grief is expected in life. From losing loved ones to ending “Winning“ phases, we grieve throughout our lives. Somewhere in the middle you must know, it's okay to laugh, to find joy even in the darkest times. "Laugh now, cry later" isn't just a phrase; it's a reminder of the healing power of joy.
Laughter and grief might seem like opposites, but they can often coexist. For an example, As much as you may “Hate” someone, you can still admire attributes about them. Laughter lifts the weight of sorrow, if only momentarily. It doesn't diminish the pain but offers you to catch a breather or two, helping us remember the light in the world. By embracing laughter, we see beyond the pain and reconnect with happy memories.
It's about balance—recognizing that life includes both joy and sorrow. Laughing with friends, sharing funny stories, or watching a favorite comedy can be therapeutic. These moments of joy can create space for healing.
Laughter helps us cope with grief's overwhelming emotions. It reduces stress, improves mood, and strengthens our immune system. By allowing ourselves to laugh, we give our body and mind tools to handle grief more effectively.
Run It Back 👟

If you’ve ever played sports, you’ve probably heard the term “run it back”.
“Run it back” simply means to repeat or do something over again. For me “run it back” was used when playing basketball. Either my opponent or I wanted another chance to win. So immediately after one game we would “run it back”.
What’s interesting about this concept is that running it back means you still believe you have a shot at winning. Maybe I can sell on adding the run it back mentality to your toolbox.
Make The Necessary Adjustments
To try again quickly after defeat means that you believe you can make the necessary changes to come out on top. In sports it may be changing your defensive schemes or identifying a weakness you can exploit in your opponent. Or maybe you underestimated your opponent and didn’t give it your all.
This applies to life and our goals. Maybe you didn’t find success on your first go, but you know that if you make a few key changes, you will come out victorious.
Delayed does not mean defeated.
You’ve Put The Work In
Part of running it back means that you have confidence in yourself. You know what you are capable of, you just need an opportunity to prove it!
I remember when I was cut during basketball tryouts, and spent the entire summer going to the park to practice and play with guys that were way above my skill level. Toward the end of that summer, I was able to beat guys that made the team.
In the end, your goals are waiting for you. You’d be surprised how much we learn from losing and how it builds your resilience.
What did you learn from your failed attempts? How can you improve? What adjustments can you make to ensure success? What do you have now that didn’t before?
Delayed does not mean defeated.
Run It Back!

Smile, you’ve earned it!
