Practicing What You Preach 🪞
By Jo
"Practice what you preach." It's a phrase we've all heard, yet it's often easier said than done. Living by your own advice is essential for maintaining integrity, building trust, and respect among those around you.
First, consider integrity. When your actions align with your words, you demonstrate authenticity. People can see that you are genuine and true to your beliefs. This consistency forms the foundation of your character and reputation.
Building trust is another key reason to practice what you preach. Trust is crucial in any relationship. When you follow through on your words, people learn they can rely on you, strengthening your connections and encouraging support.
Practicing what you preach also fosters respect. Leading by example shows that you hold yourself to the same standards you set for others. It demonstrates humility and accountability, earning admiration.
Practicing what you preach is about aligning your behavior with your values. It's about being a person of integrity, building trust, earning respect, and inspiring those around you. So next time you give advice or share your beliefs, remember to live by them. Your actions speak louder than words, and they have the power to make a lasting impact.
A Case of Mistaken Identity 🔍

“I’ve been treating you with courtesy and respect because that’s the way I choose to treat everyone. But never, ever mistake kindness with weakness.”
-Louise Perry
People will take your silence for weakness.
People will take your kindness for weakness.
People will take your silence for ignorance.
Being more introverted, I’ve always run into people who think because I choose not to always talk or input my opinion, that I don’t have one. I’ve actually learned a lot from keeping my mouth shut, listening and observing the world around me. This is a strength. Believe it.
The Battles You Can’t See
Life is hard. Everybody has something they are dealing with. Everyone. We all have our battles that we fight, and we never know what someone else is going through or what it takes for them to function each day. That’s why I do my best to be kind to others in general.
I think the Golden Rule “Treat others as you would like others to treat you”, still applies, however it’s unrealistic to think everyone will think and act this way.
Although you may try your best to be considerate, some will take this for granted. People will be people as I’ve learned.
There is always a point where people will mistake kindness, patience and silence as weakness. In these moments, it’s important to recognize it will likely continue if you allow it.
Poke The Bear & Find Out
When someone disrespects, belittles or mistreats you, is it reasonable to roll over and accept it? Will you take the high road every time?
We are human and we all have our limits. Eventually, you will stand up for yourself and fight back.
On your journey, people will underestimate and mistake you for less than you are. Don’t allow people to diminish your strengths, goals and efforts because they don’t understand…
Your silence is your strength.
Your kindness is your strength.
Your knowledge is your strength.
“Don’t mistake my kindness for weakness. The beast in me is sleeping, not dead.”
-Moosa Rahat
