Your Internal Compass🧭

By Marcus

"With great power comes great responsibility."

Sound familiar?

This phrase was made popular as the defining lesson from Peter Parker's (Spiderman) Uncle Ben. What's compelling about this is that in Spiderman's story, his uncle Ben is killed by a thief that Peter could have easily intervened moments earlier and prevented the tragic outcome.

In the movie, Peter doesn't stop the thief earlier on because he felt it wasn’t his problem at the time. Initially, the thief was no threat to Peter personally, so he figured why bother stopping them. Of course, that decision comes back to haunt him as the same thief crosses paths with his Uncle Ben later in the evening.

An unfortunate ending.

Yes, Spiderman’s story is an extreme example, however, the lesson here is understanding the small decisions we make can have huge consequences.

Establishing Your Core Values

We see major corporations and businesses with their mission statements and core values all the time. You know your big time too, so you should have a set of guidelines that you live your life by as well.

What do you stand for? What's important to you? What do you want to be known for? What do you NOT want to be known for?

Yes, these are a lot of questions, but they are great questions to ask as you establish who you are and how you want the world to perceive you.

Finding Alignment

It's easier to stay on track when you align yourself with people and organizations that hold the same values as you. When you are surrounded by people and environments that go against what you believe in, it can create an internal conflict that's difficult to manage.

The small decisions matter. Your life is a series of small decisions that produce huge outcomes. I want you to find yourself on the winning side!

Do your best to make decisions that align with who you are and who you want to become.

It’s your life. Lead the way.
